GASC/Printing Industries of America Teacher Programs
GASC/Printing Industries of America Teachers Update
The Teachers Update provides attendees with an understanding of new technologies for education, training, and retraining needs of tomorrow’s work force. This one-week program includes both laboratory and classroom sessions in Printing Industries of America’s production facility, which showcases the latest equipment and cutting-edge technology. This yearly workshop is free to 20 educators and the grant covers hotel and some meals.
GASC/Printing Industries of America Teachers Conference at PRINT 13®
This Teachers Conference is administered through Printing Industries of America through funding made possible by the Graphic Arts Show Company. This conference is free to all graphic arts educators from high school to college level. Travel grants are available to cover a portion of the cost of attendance. The GASC/Printing Industries of America Teacher’s Conference provides an opportunity for graphic arts teachers to learn about current industry trends and see the latest equipment and supplies.
Educator and School Awards
Take advantage of Printing Industries of America’s great recognition opportunities for both educators and schools. The Education Awards of Excellence, presented at the Teacher’s Conference, honor an academic educator from the graphic arts community, as well as an industry trainer. The Frederick D. Kagy Education Award of Excellence recognizes an exemplary middle school, high school, or community college graphic communications program; winning schools get to pick $1,000 worth of textbooks from Printing Industries Press. For more information on either award, contact Mike Packard at email@example.com or 412-259-1704.
The Graphic Arts Show Company® was formed in 1982 by the National Association for Printing Leadership (NAPL), The Association for Suppliers of Printing, Publishing, and Converting Technologies® (NPES®), and Printing Industries of America. GASC’s mission is to provide an effective forum through shows and conferences to meet the marketing requirements of the graphic communications and converting industries. GASC brings the industry’s buyers and sellers together in the most cost-effective way possible.
GAERF was founded in 1983 by NAPL, NPES, and Printing Industries of America. These three national associations jointly own GASC. GAERF was created to channel a portion of the revenues earned by GASC-managed shows, such as GRAPH EXPO® and PRINT®, into projects supporting a strong future for the industry.
GAERF administers PrintED®, a national accreditation and certification program, MAKE YOUR MARK® in Graphic Communications, an industry image and recruiting campaign, and a grant program that has awarded over $4.6 million to fund projects that foster the advancement of knowledge and education in the field of graphic communications. In addition, GAERF, in conjunction with GASC, sponsors free Career Awareness Day programs during PRINT® and GRAPH EXPO®.
